DIY'spiration: A little Cut, A little Patch

If you have followed the blog, for just a short while, you'd know I'm a creative one, I don't like to just sit around, even when doing my favorite thing; watching movies - I still need to work with something, so I do a lot of DIY, for decoration purposes and fashion.

So  I thought I'd share, with my fellow DIY'ers, two of the easiest things to custom-make yourself for cheap, instead of paying big money for 'a basic with a few holes'.

A  l i t t l e  C u t

You will need:
 - A basic top or legging (preferably something that's stretchy and doesn't shed)

 - A scissor

If you don't just want to give it a go from the start, make out a template of the shape that you want and draw it onto your shirt or leggings. No matter what, it's always good to have guidelines. Once you got that, you can either cut the exact shape that you want, or make small cuts and stretch out the holes like the second picture.
This is super simple and it's a fun way to be creative with old shirts you got lying around that you don't use anymore, or if you want to have your own unique, low-cost, wardrobe!

A little Patch

You will need:
- A basic of your choosing
- Beads, studs, fabric and lace. (whichever thing you're doing)
- Needle, thread and scissor

This one requires a little more work than the first, but is just as fun. You can be inspired by branded leggings like the top ones, or DIY's like the two bottom ones, or come up with your very own design!
Go on adventure in your own wardrobe, maybe there's some shirts there with some cool prints that are too small to fit or you just don't think fit you anymore, make use of them by customizing a basic. Maybe your local fabric or craft store

- Remember that if you're sewing in tight-fitting stretchy fabric, like leggings, it's a good idea to patch in one while wearing them, so the design fits on perfectly!

A lot of stuff has actually happen since last time, pretty amazing huh?

Thursday morning I went to the dentist for the first time in... almost 4 years, and there was both good news and bad news, all my teeth looked good, except one. So I'm currently halfway through a root canal, and I gotta say... OH MY GOD THE STORIES ARE TRUE, hurts like hell! but I'll have amazing teeth afterwards, booyah~

In the afternoon my bestest buddy, Hayes, came by, so I could FINALLY give him his birthday gift.
I wanted to give him more, but the plan I had failed, so this is all for THIS TIME AROUND. I made him a 3D-inspired card, and a hollow book with a Sherlock Holmes quote in it. He shed a single manly tear /totally ratting you out here man which means that my mission was accomplished, ha! I bought us some cake and we just hung around for a few hours, good times.

Friday, the girl who curls mah mustache, came by and we needed some stuff, so we went downtown and came back with a few items.
I'm soooo happy about feathers coming into style, I've always loved feathers as an accessory, but when I was younger, I didn't have the guts to actually wear them in public, but now I can go be all swagtastic looking 8D
Also got these two studs, they're pretty heavy, but I think they look awesome when worn.

We also exchanged easter eggs, and the one I got was clearly the best, you better recognize.
Since Nadia had just finished "Cathrine", we decided we wanted to try it out, since it's a short game, and I found it pretty entertaining, OH ALL OF THE SEXTING.

I had just finished 'the Hunger Games' on audiobook, so we reserved tickets for the showing on saturday, and had some dinner beforehand.

How do I feel about the movie? I was pretty satisfied with how they translated the book onto the screen. But they lacked explaining a lot of things, that you wouldn't get unless you've read the book, which isn't the best thing. And they added and removed some stuff, some of it I reeaaaally don't get why they changed, but oh well, all in all.. I'm definitely going to buy it when it comes out.

Goodbye pale face!

Oh god, I'm so excited for the weather heating up, wearing shorts and t-shirts OUTSIDE, that's the stuff.

Work is a little tiresome, mostly because I keep getting a sore throat, everybody has the cough and small children don't really know how to constrict bacterias and they want to rub their face against yours, mmmh I love the feel of flem against my face in the morning .

I've started listening to audiobooks as well, since my doctor thinks I'm starting to showing my stress-tendencies again, so giving movies a break and doing that instead, and I think it helps, right now I'm switching back and forth from "the Strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" and "the Hunger Games".

Thursday, my "oooold" friend, Jackie came by to visit and we went about town for a few hours and then headed to my place to do le talking and le gossiping, oh yeah. No pictures, but it was great seeing her again, and hope it won't take this long for us to see each other again.

Saturday I borrowed my moms car and went to the birthday party of Line, I was really happy that I went, even though I was a little beat, it was great seeing a lot of my friends, that I haven't seen in a while and just do some more bonding, and we played a really great game /that we're gonna copy for le Mustache, oh snap.
Going home, the fog from morning had settled more heavily, and I could see about 30 meters ahead, and no cars around that late, modern Silent Hill, what~


I dunno why, I just thought it'd be fun to show you all what stuff I use in my usual "beauty" routine.
Seeing it like this I'm like "whoa, that's a lot!" but putting it on, I know it really isn't.

In other things related to my life, I've been talking with my mom about my future tattoo. She herself has two, one visible on her index finger and one on her back hip, and she's really supportive about me getting one, almost excited, but she doesn't get the concept I want at all, haha. She talks about fairies with colors and things that takes up WAAAAY more space than I want it to.

Of course not getting these and maybe not in these spots, but I like simple stand-alone tattoos like this

The design will without a doubt be something inspired by the character and story of Peter Pan, if any of you have any ideas for inspiration, DO TELL.
I've been considering a red eagle feater, for his "native American" name, but with my red hair /I know it's not permanent, but there's an obvious reason why I dye my hair red xD, I think it might be a little too much.

My 'photo album' started to get cluttered, so I figured I should update my blog about this past week.
Of course there's always work work work. At the moment I'm looking to be transfered some place else, but as of right now.. Not much is happening, but I'm keeping on.

I've gotten a wee-bit obsession with nail polishes, so I went downtown to get me some new ones, and just take a stroll around.

I definitely like the 'cosmos' ones, the best, but I can't wait to use the silver one more! /and just become better at doing nails all in all, my girl 's promised to do some Captain American inspi' ones some time, oooh excitement!

Friday I went to have dinner with my mom and siblings, I ate lots of pork, potatoes and sauce, so good!
We danced and we sang, loads of fun, we even filmed some, but that's extremely private /oh god we're so attractive I don't even.

And I also wanted to show one of the best gifts I've ever given to my mom.

Locked down from dusk, until dawn

This weekend le Mustache (1/2) hosted a small party, which included some sort of casual dress-up.
Myself, who planned it, didn't know what to wear until a few hours before the party started, that's just how I roll.
Dug out my old Manchester United (Beckham) shirt, and decided to go soccer inspired, faaab ponytails for everybody!

Actually I wanted to join my girl as Mufasa, since she decided on Scar, but I knew I'd end up with styling my hair as I usually do, and that'd just be boring, yeah?
But oh yes, just look at this lioness, rawr /oh so many puns to be ignored.

And everybody seemed like they had a great time, and I loved seeing how people had decided to dress-up, I just think it's more fun with some sort of theme to a party. /coughpeopleshouldupdatetheirblogscough

Some other stuff I'm doing a lot of right now is wall deco and just other interior deco-stuff, since I don't feel like sewing a whole lot, this is a good creative out lid for me.

The sky at this time of year is just amazing. I can't help but to snap a picture when I notice, other than this, I'm not really one who does a lot of cloud-watching, have to admit.

Can anyone guess BOTH the inspirations for this one? One of them I'm very enthusiastic about.
A little disappointed in just using the black background, but hey, that's how you learn, right?

Did these two on Christmas eve, just didn't get around to show them, don't know if I want to hang 'em up yet, or not, but I still think they're fun, and found out they're great gifts, oh joy.

I made this for my door, actually wanted it to say "a fucking mustache", but I don't feel like putting a curseword onto my door, stay classy kids!

The last one I did today, just for the heck of it really. Not sure what I'll use it for.

Let's go, hah!

Lots of stuff to tell you really, so let me get started.
My birthday was on the 7th of October, I turned 21. Me and my girl arranged for a joint birthday, since we're actually born on the same day, just different year, spooky~ we know.
Eventhough our birthday is so early in the month, that wouldn't stop us from taking on the Halloween theme, and so we did. No pictures though XD

I made my girl this foam Joker, with a movie and a pair of earrings, a little motivation, so she'll get her ears pierced sooner, haha.
And a shot of what I got from my lovely friends, DUDES! When you showed up with gifts I wanted to cry so hard, why are you all so amazing? And all of the mustache~~ !
/I don't have a shot of my girls gift, but I'll definitely get a proper one soon, since it's by far the best gift I've received in years!

Barbara came the day before the party, to hang and help out, we watched Top Gun Thursday night, and we're going head to head!
I attempted to make my own cake, and it ended up looking so disgusting XD tasted fine, but totally disgusting.
Sadako came by aswell. Must uphold the tradition.

The party itself turned out so much better than I could have hoped for, and it was so great having so many people in the house, chatting, dancing and whatever us weird people do.

Sunday I hosted a smaller birthday for my family only /or the family that I want to hang around with.
I made buns, which they enjoyed a lot, which is good, because I'm never ever making buns ever again, thank you.

This sunday, I went to a mall called Fisketovet, we didn't expect anything to be open, but apparently everything was, so some money got spend.
If you don't know it yet, you might aswell know it now... I collect movies.. You could almost say that I hoard movies actually, right now my collection is about 500+ /at least last time I counted, but I buy new movies all the time, so yeah... XD

Yesterday I got soo pissed at my cosplay that I just needed a break from it and decided that I might as well do something that I've wanted to try out for a while. And voila.

The quotes are both from Peter Pan, which is a character and story, that I hold very dear.
I actually really want the bottom text tattooed, but I think it's too much text to have anywhere on my body, and I don't like a tattoo that you need 15+ seconds to read.
But this way I'll be reminded, every day, about what these words represent to me.

Bunbun went home today, but we still managed to do more comfy stuff. (I have no sense of time right now, so I dunno when we did what ^^;)

When I got back from work, I started being creative with all my old accessory stuff, Tenna inspired me <3

We also 'celebrated' Nadia's real birthday, laMustacheranger2 prepared some buns and me and Bun made our burgers :3 tasty tasty~

It was nice having my lovely bun around, especially now, since I've gotten the boot from Sunset.
You never know, how much you appreciate your friends, until something like that happen.

I'm getting better and I think today was my last sick day. Which makes me happy.
I really hate being sick, especially because it's never just a slight flu.. Well at first it is, AND THEEN..... but enough sicktalk!

Today went out with my dad (Who's back btw!!! <3), to find a bed and a dresser for him. He didn't really get anything other than socks though xD Always like that with him.
I got myself a duster and a powerful desk lamp, so when I shoot videoes, my wonderful half-moons won't show up as much.


Also Sadako came by earlier, I had to fix her hair.

I've sown my old exte's on my clip-ins. To make them thicker, since I've always thought they were kinda thin, especially since I need a lot of layering, alas. That was todays project.
